Australian Exports Sailing Around the World

Lisa McAuley - Friday, July 09, 2010

That can be taken figuratively, as Australia continues to send its product to every corner of the earth or, in the case of Seawind Catamarans, quite literally.

Seawind had a humble beginning over 25 years ago and now boasts its success, having reached the status of Australia’s largest manufacturer and exporter of sailing craft and cruising catamarans.

Exporting products, even unique ones, requires a continued effort. The search for the perfect product, choosing the markets where the product will succeed, breaking into those markets and then succeeding in sales creates a never-ending cycle. The sentence itself is exhausting and it doesn’t include the even longer list of minute details!

The dynamic whims of the international market place make it essential for exporters to put forth a solid effort and to grow in an ever-changing market. Businesses must always be searching for ways to improve or alter their product to meet consumer demands. And companies all over NSW are doing just that! As such, the Premier’s NSW Export Awards is not just about winning recognition but also the knowledge gained in the shared competitive environment with other leading companies.

Regardless of the reach your business may have, each and every endeavour increases Australia’s value to the world, and your value to Australia. The Premier’s NSW Export Awards is a chance for your business to have its value recognised.

Year in and year out, individual businesses strive to reach that next level in export. It takes sacrifice. It takes determination. And it takes dedication. Now the question is: does your business have what it takes?

Register for the Premier’s NSW Export Awards today. Deadline is 22 August 2010.

Exporting the Rich Flavours of Australia

Lisa McAuley - Friday, July 09, 2010

That’s the common bond between exporters located within NSW and the specialty of De Bortoli Wines. This family owned winery exports to more than 70 countries. To them, each export is about more than just moving products, it is about exporting culture as well. That’s why it doesn’t matter if you export tasty drinks or not, every export means sharing Australian values and traditions with the rest of the world. A constant reminder that dependability and quality assurance are what Australian trading is about.

Spreading Australian business practices around the world only enhances our own value in the international market place, thus increasing an individual business’ value to Australia. We want to commend those dedicated to the betterment of the Australian name. The Premier’s NSW Export Awards is a way for Australia to thank companies for putting forth a strong effort and succeeding in export.

Regardless of size or reach, if you’re in manufacturing or business consulting, the Premier’s NSW Export Awards has a category or several, to fit your business. This is how your business’ individual value can be recognised. And not only do these awards serve as recognition for a job well done, but they also afford entrants a unique opportunity to share knowledge gained within a competitive environment.

It takes a lot to make a business grow, especially to make it grow within the global market. Drive. Determination. Sacrifice. Risk. In the end, there is a rewarding feeling when all that hard work pays off. Let NSW reward you as well.

Register for the Premier’s NSW Export Awards today. Deadline is 22 August 2010.

This is the 1st time ever an Aussie Company have Won an Award for “Christmas” puddings in the UK. Pudding Lane’s Michael Jameson said:  “this is only the 2nd time ever in the long history of the prestigious British awards that a company outside of UK/Europe have been awarded a Gold for puddings and we won the first time last year also for our Macadamia & Brandy pudding!

Pudding Lane has set exacting standards with their environmental and corporate social responsibility policies.

  • The only disposable part of the pudding making process is a short piece of twine used to tie the pudding cloth up with for cooking. Winning a UK Great Taste Gold standard recognizes our craft, constant dedication and uncompromising attention to detail and quality of (Australian) ingredients that goes into making every one of our hand-made puddings. It really is like taking coals to Newcastle” The Great Taste Awards, which is organised by the UK Guild of Fine Food is now in its 16th year and referred to as the “Oscars of Fine Food”.

A Great Taste Award is the authoritative, independent standard for fine food. Guild Director Bob Farrand comments: “There’s only one way to ensure your food is the ‘finest,’ that you’re buying something ‘extra special’ and will ‘taste the difference’ and that is to buy foods that have been subjected to independent scrutiny,” he said. That’s what the Great Taste Awards achieves – hundreds of independent experts judging on taste alone. “ It is food and drink’s equivalent to Michelin star.”
