Recognising Excellence in Export
The Export Council of Australia runs two major awards programs each year: the Australian Export Heroes Awards and the Premier’s NSW Export Awards. The Export Council of Australia plays an active role in supporting other state and territory Export Award programs, particularly in Victoria and Western Australia, as well as the National Export Awards.
The Export Council of Australia is a strong supporter of rewarding excellence in export through these award programs:
Australian Export Heroes Awards
The Australian Export Heroes Awards is a national program run each year to recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to building Australia’s position and performance in International Trade. Created in 1997 by the Australian Institute of Export, and supported by our sponsoring partners, over one hundred Australians have received an Australian Export Heroes award.
Premier’s NSW Export Awards
The Premier's NSW Export Awards is an annual program which aims to recognise excellence in the export of goods and services by NSW business. The Awards acknowledge the important contribution of businesses to the economy through job creation and increased prosperity for the community and for the state.
The Awards operate as a two-tier process: exporters first achieve state distinction through the NSW Export Awards program before progressing as national finalists to the Australian Export Awards were they are benchmarked against their peers across the country, with winners receiving national recognition for their international success.
Similar award programs are run in other state and territories across Australia and for further information on an export award program in your state or territory the information can be found at www.exportawards.gov.au.
National Export Awards
The Australian Export Awards is a national program that recognises and honours Australian companies engaged in international business who have achieved sustainable growth through innovation and commitment.
The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) partner the presentation of this national program, now in its 50th year it is historically one of the longest running business awards programs in Australia.
The Australian Export Awards also honours and celebrates the nation’s globally successful companies by raising their profile and bringing valuable business and networking opportunities.
The program is made possible through the collaboration of all the States and Territories. The Awards operates as a two-tier process: exporters first achieve state distinction through their local State and Territory export award program. Local winners then progress as national finalists and are benchmarked against their peers across the country, with winners receiving national recognition for their international success.
