A key undertaking of the Export Council of Australia (ECA) is research and input to international trade policy. Given this is an extremely broad subject, the Export Council of Australia will focus its attention on four key aspects namely market access, trade facilitation, international trade finance and export specific assistance programs. Export Council of Australia will, with the support of tertiary sector undertake research in these four fields and prepare both ad-hoc and an annual international trade Policy submissions for the budget session of Parliament.
In addition the Export Council of Australia will play an important role in representing to Government and other decision makers, the SME sector, members of allied associations and those who play a role in the process of international trade. Members will be invited to join industry and issue specific advisory committees and the Boards Industry & Government Relations sub-committee. These forums will provide an important forum for dialogues and the formation of Export Council of Australia policy.
