2017 Western Australian Industry and Export Awards Finalists Announced

The Export Council of Australia would like to congratulate those businesses nominated as finalists for the 2017 Western Australian Industry & Export Awards. The Premier of Western Australia, the Hon. Mark McGowan MLA, announced the finalists vying to be recognised for their excellence and contribution to the state, across 15 Export and 4 Industry award categories.

In acknowledging the finalists, the Premier said:

“The WA Industry and Export Awards showcase the talent and entrepreneurial spirit of Western Australian business, from the top end of town to small, family run operations. This year's finalists represent the best and brightest of what Western Australia has to offer - not just to the rest of the nation, but to the world.”

Chief Executive Officer for the Export Council of Australia (ECA), Ms Lisa McAuley also extended her congratulations, saying:

“The WA Industry & Export Awards are about rewarding businesses that have shown a commitment and determination to grow their global business and who, against adversity, seek new innovative ways to compete on the international stage.”

“The competition is extremely tough and we are thrilled to see a number of new names recognised for their tremendous efforts. It’s fantastic to also see the diversity of the companies that entered the awards this year.”

Winners of each award category will be announced at a Presentation Ceremony and Dinner, to be held on Thursday 26 October 2017 at the Hyatt Regency, Perth. As part of the celebration, this year’s presentation dinner will encourage more companies to think global, by celebrating and recognising the strong opportunities emerging for companies in Latin America.
As Australia enters negotiations over a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Pacific Alliance, an excellent opportunity emerges to place them at the top-of-mind among Australian companies evaluating new market and diversification opportunities.

“These negations come at an opportune moment given numerous positive developments in the Australia-Latin America relationship. We look forward to a great event that recognises our WA champions and looks at the new growth opportunities for the state in this important region,” Ms McAuley said.
