Government advisory board on innovation and science backs up the ECA
31.01.2018
Government advisory board Innovation and Science Australia (ISA) has backed the ECA’s long-standing policy positions for the need for the government to
adequately support SME exporters.
In its report Australia 2030: Prosperity through Innovation,
the ISA has called for adequate funding for the Export Market Development Grant, greater support for businesses seeking to start out in exporting,
and by expanding and making better use of trade agreements. These recommendations were all in the ECA’s 2017 Trade Policy Recommendations (see
here).
In February the ECA will release its 2018 Trade Policy Priorities, which—like the ISA report—focuses on how and why the government can
better support SME exporters.
