Australian businesses to get a leg up on their road to exporting
Many Australian SMEs and mid-size companies find global business challenging and need assistance to navigate the complexities and opportunities. The Export
Council of Australia (ECA) is the membership organisation that helps these businesses to go global sustainably, by education, advocacy and promotion.
We have been supporting companies to grow internationally for over 60 years.
The ECA has the development of Australia’s resources via the promotion
of Australian industry in international markets as our primary goal.
We achieve this goal by:
- Developing international business skills
- Building Australian business capacity
- Conducting international market research
- Helping to break down barriers to trade
- Building global networks
- Informing Australian trade policy
In addition to public workshops, the Export Council of Australia works closely with a range of partners to deliver first class programs that provide export
readiness skills development for Australian businesses.
In 2018, in partnership with AUSVEG, the ECA will be delivering Export Readiness Workshops for vegetable growers across several locations nationwide.
In additional, the ECA will provide access to Export Readiness Packages, including the Australian Export Handbook, online Going Global course, and international
business coaching to fifteen companies selected by Sunshine Coast Council.
The ECA will also be running Export Readiness Webinars – practical tips and knowledge shared by experts focused on export readiness and the documentation
process for blueberry growers, in partnership with NSW Department of Primary Industries.
The ECA is also launching an innovative new program Export Ready: International Trade Program for Central Queensland Agribusiness – led by international
trade specialists and supported by Central Highlands Development Corporation (CHDC). Training modules will be delivered on a range of practical topics
and presented by experienced international trade consultants.
By the end of the program, businesses will have been introduced to the fundamentals of international business, engaged with real-life case study businesses,
and developed an international business plan and pitch that can be implemented for a company’s international expansion.
The Export Ready Program is for agricultural and related businesses in Central Queensland looking to export, or who are currently exporting and would like
to enter a new market and/or build their export business. The program will run from September 2018 and registrations are being accepted at: www.chdc.com.au/export-workshop.
