David Bennett is IP Australia’s first Intellectual Property Counsellor to China, based at the Australian Embassy in Beijing since 2016. He helps Australians to protect their intellectual property in China, in particular by providing information and guidance on the realities of IP registration and enforcement. He also supports the Australian government’s engagement with China on IP matters.
David has worked in IP Australia’s international, domestic, and trade policy sections, as well as in the private sector. He is a registered Trade Marks Attorney and former biotechnology patent examiner, with a technical background in molecular biology.
