Review of Australia's Space Industry Capability: call for Industry Input and the Melbourne-based Consultation Session

On 4 August 2017, the Australian Government launched the consultation process for the ’Review of Australia’s Space Industry Capability’.  The review is consulting widely to examine the Australian space sector’s current capability and areas of comparative advantage, as well as our regional and international engagement within the global sector. Importantly, this input will be used to inform the review’s finding and the development of the right strategic framework to support the growth of Australia’s space industry.

The Civil Space and Cyber Security team in our Department is currently supporting the review - led by an Expert Reference Group (ERG) chaired by Dr Megan Clark AC – and the ERG is seeking views from across the spectrum of industry, government and society.

The Issues Paper has been prepared by the ERG to prompt discussion and encourage written submissions to the review.

The review will also be undertaking round-table meetings in all capital cities to ensure stakeholders have the opportunity to provide input. The Melbourne Consultation Session will take place in AusIndustry’s Melbourne office at Level 5, 111 Bourke Street, Melbourne on Thursday 7 September for approximately 3 hours.
