Strong Regional Showing Among Export Awards Finalists

The State’s best export companies including a strong contingent from regional NSW have been named as finalists in the 2017 Premier’s NSW Export Awards. Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair said there are 82 company finalists named across 20 export categories, including 16 regional-based businesses shortlisted across 11 categories.

“It is great to celebrate our best exporters who are making their mark on the world stage, I congratulate everyone on such a terrific achievement.

“We know that businesses that export are more profitable, more productive and have stronger growth prospects.

“Our strong showing of 16 regional finalists from areas including Forbes, Albury, Griffith and Port Macquarie shows regional NSW is home to some of our state’s most enterprising export businesses.”

Regional finalists represent a diverse range of sectors, such as Albury-based live fire target systems business ATS and Manildra-based oilseed processor MSM Milling.

Albury’s ATS was named a finalist in both the Digital Technologies and Defence Industries categories, and UAV of Port Macquarie a finalist in the Defence Industries and Regional Exporter categories.

Winners will be announced in Sydney on 25 October, 2017.

National Award categories winners will then represent the State at the Australian Export Awards National Ceremony on 5 December 2017.

The Premier’s NSW Export Awards are led by the Export Council of Australia with principal partner support from the NSW Government. Businesses interested in learning more about export opportunities in their sector can contact the NSW Trade Start team here.
